Words Matter

Words do Matter!
Pro 18:20 A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Pro 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

The wise understand the power of words. For this reason, they think before they speak and carefully guard their words lest they wound the spirits of others.

Wise people deliberately seek to encourage and build up others by being positive and uplifting.
Pure and wise words come from a godly person’s heart.

So, what am I saying - Words are the product of what is in the heart:
"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh" (Lu.6:45).

Impure words are the fruit of an impure heart just as pure words are the fruit of a pure heart. the happiness and health of a person’s life are determined by the purity of his or her heart (Pr.4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. ).

We are responsible for our spiritual edification and growth. David, who often encouraged himself in the LORD (1 S.30:6). Scripture challenges us to think and meditate exclusively on things that are edifying:
(Ph.4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.)
Never forget: Words have the power of life and death; they can either kill or nourish life (v.21).
It is impossible to overestimate the power of words.

foolish people not only destroy others with their words but also themselves.
It is their words that alienate and cut people out of their lives and cause others to shun them.
The wise do not enjoy being around the complainer, the gossiper, or the liar. The foolish person has few friends.

The truth of the matter we all need to take a good look at ourselves…

It is words that alienate and remove people from our lives and causes others to shun us.
Our words expose our character, whether good and righteous or bad and profane.

Think before you speak!
