Never Give Up on The Church
When I hear about people leaving the church, my heart breaks.
Certainly, church is messy at times. It’s in constant need of repentance, forgiveness, and renewal.
That’s how it is with families.
And, because the church truly is a family, I’ll never give up on it.
Yes, a family. An actual, real-life, family of believers.
When our ideas about the church are theological or institutional, we make the church an easy thing to leave. But the church isn’t a building, a denomination, an organization, it’s a family full of members from various backgrounds.
The church is people. People create families.
Certainly, we’ll have the occasional falling out. We’ll get upset with each other.
Sometimes we’ll walk away in anger. The truth of the matter we all have hurts and frustrations. As the body of Christ, we must learn to talk, share and, pray together . . . You know, have church together.
Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Never give up on the church!
